During the 2013 holiday season, Denver’s Mini5280 club gave the families in residence at Craig Hospital a special treat. While the 250 members of the automobile club are known for their passion for new and classic Mini Coopers, they also are devoted to giving to others. This year, Mini5280 collected toys for Craig Hospital, and the club intends to make the Craig Hospital toy drive an annual event. Chris Chappell, a Mini5280 member who helps to coordinate the event, wrote this festive poem to summarize the toy drive...
MINI 5280 & Craig Hospital
We gathered like elves on a Thursday,
Santa and his MINIons upon MINI sleighs!
Toys all gathered with a Creative Corner in the lead,
Off to Craig hospital for patients in need!
Through traffic we flew with a turbo in charge,
Smiles on our face, hearts big & large!
To the circle we drove, round & round we went,
Christmas lights aglow, barely a gallon spent!
Patients & staff, proud with delight
A little chilly, a little brisk this starry winters night!
Everyone happy, and a tour they did take
Lisa in the lead, success we did make!
Off they go with a whoosh, tires spinning and squeal
"See u next year!” with Santa’s MINIons at the wheel!
