On Tuesday, Dec. 10, Craig Hospital aims to raise $30,000 through Colorado Gives Day. Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, Colorado, Colorado Gives Day is a 24-hour period to “give where you live” by making an online donation through ColoradoGives.org.
Joseph Brucker, Director of Sponsorship and Annual Support, is managing the fundraising campaign for Craig Hospital.
“For anyone who donates to Craig Hospital through the ColoradoGives.org site, their gift will be increased by the FirstBank Incentive Fund and all credit card fees will be waived. So if you want to make an impact, this is the day that your money goes further,” Brucker says.
The money raised will be used for patient assistance to help families with holiday expenses, and hotel stays. Additionally, funds will support Craig Hospital’s Programs of Excellence including Therapeutic Recreation, the Peak Center at Craig Hospital and the Adaptive Technology Lab.
This year, donations can be made in honor of a particular Craig Hospital caregiver who will receive a special letter from the Craig Hospital Foundation along with a handcrafted lapel pin. Additionally, area businesses are pitching in with donations of 5 percent to 20 percent of their sales from that day. Funds raised from the business donations will benefit the Therapeutic Recreation Department. Participating businesses include:
“We are encouraging individuals to go to the Colorado Gives/Craig Hospital Foundationwebsite to make a donation on Tuesday, Dec 10. If they haven’t made a gift yet, this is the day to do it,” Brucker says.
Donations can be scheduled in advance by completing the donation form online. Charges will occur on Dec. 10.
