“Your name here,” a special note from CEO Mike Fordyce

June 22, 2014

For more than a century, Craig Hospital has improved the health and quality of life for individuals experiencing catastrophic medical conditions. Throughout our proud history, we have been at the forefront of rehabilitative medicine, unlocking cutting-edge advances in equipment, treatment, and research that have benefited patients with spinal cord or traumatic brain injuries. Rehabilitation programs from around the world look to Craig Hospital for best practices, and we have been a top-ranked leader in rehabilitation for 24 consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report.

But we are not going to rest on our laurels and accolades. In fact, we are just getting started —and we need your help.

Through Redefining ROI: the Campaign for Craig Hospital, we are raising $68 million for an ambitious expansion and renovation project and the innovative programs for which we are known.

We are not just constructing a new building; we are spearheading a paradigm shift in rehabilitative medicine. Our new campus will allow us to maximize bedside clinical research and drive new discoveries. Research scientists and clinicians will work side-by-side, investigating best practices in caring for and rehabilitating survivors of spinal cord and brain injury.

Mary and George Sissel

“Craig patients and staff deserve a world class facility in which to redefine rehabilitation. We are honored to be a part of this innovative institution and hope that you will join us today and make a gift that is meaningful to you.” ~Mary Sissel, chair of Redefining ROI: The Campaign for Craig Hospital

Our new single-occupancy rooms with state-of-the-art adaptive equipment will help our award-winning nursing staff provide the very best care, while giving our patients the privacy and comfort they need to heal. Patients and their families will have spaces to interact with Craig staff in a way that will promote emotional and spiritual healing. Expanded therapy spaces will give our multidisciplinary teams of physical, occupational, speech and therapeutic recreation specialists the room they need to work together.

The new facilities for Craig Hospital’s PEAK Center — a fully-accessible adaptive health and wellness center — will expand our ability to serve the community beyond spinal cord and brain injury to Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disabilities.
