Lisa Reckler Cohn
Lisa is the Co-CEO of AIR Communities, which operates the US multifamily real estate portfolio of communities owned by Blackstone. Blackstone Real Estate Investment Partners X acquired AIR Communities in June 2024 and took AIR private.
Prior to that go-private transaction, Lisa served as President and General Counsel of Apartment Income REIT Corp. or AIR (NYSE: AIRC) which was created from the separation transaction of Aimco (NYSE: AIV). She had specific responsibility for governance, information technology and process innovation, human resources, and legal. Prior to her role with AIR, Lisa served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of Aimco. During her tenure, Lisa had increasing levels of responsibilities across the company. In addition to serving as General Counsel, Lisa oversaw construction services, asset quality and service, insurance, and risk management. Lisa joined Aimco in 2002 as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel.
Prior to joining Aimco, Lisa was engaged in the private practice of law at Hogan & Hartson LLP (now Hogan Lovells). She also served for two years as a Federal judicial clerk.
Lisa earned her undergraduate degree (with honors and distinction) in public policy from Stanford University and earned her law degree (cum laude) from Harvard Law School and served on the Harvard Law Review, including as Managing Editor.
Lisa also serves on the Board of Trustees of National Storage Affiliates (NYSE: NSA).
Lisa is active in her community. In addition to serving on the Craig Foundation Board of Trustees, she serves on the International Board of Directors for BBYO. She served as a trustee of the Rose Community Foundation from 2010 to 2020. From 2012 to 2015, Lisa served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Denver Jewish Day School and served on the Board of Trustees from 2008 to 2016.
Lisa is a Denver native and met her husband, Rich, at her first youth group event (they married 15 years later). Rich and Lisa are the proud parents of Avi. When not advancing AIR’s success or engaged in philanthropic endeavors, you are likely to find Lisa with her family and friends, cheering the Denver Broncos or any other Colorado sports team, relishing a round of golf, or enjoying a concert.
