Mattie Cryer, LCSW, HTR, CBIS

Mattie Cryer, LCSW, HTR, CBIS, is a registered horticultural therapist (HTR), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and certified brain injury specialist (CBIS). She received her education in social work at the Graduate School of Social Work in Denver and completed horticultural therapy coursework through the Horticultural Therapy Institute, based in Denver. Mattie joined the Craig team in 2023 and has continued to shape and add to the program’s offerings. Her treatment philosophy prioritizes person-first, nature-centered healing and leans on intuitive curiosity and the understanding that the human body and nature are interdependent and infinitely wise. Mattie discovered a love for gardening early, growing tomato gardens with her father in Texas. This translated to an interest in horticultural therapy in 2020 when gardening was a source of joy and respite during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. In her free time, Mattie enjoys making art, spending time outside with her family and reading as much as possible.
