We are excited to announce that the 6th annual Living Well with Brain Injury event on August 23, 2024, will take place at the Malley Recreation Center located just half a mile from Craig Hospital at 3380 S. Lincoln St. in Englewood, Colorado. This move to an indoor location will allow us to host this event rain or shine!
Join us for a day of discussion groups, resources and connecting with others, covering topics like healthy living, wellness and caregiver support. The day will include a resource fair, interactive discussion, lunch, and Q&A opportunities with Craig grads and staff.

| The Power of Presence | Sarah Adelman, Yoga Therapist Investigate the power held within the presence of each moment. Through breathwork and gentle movement, we will experience the ability of both the body and mind to create space, release unneeded tension and rest in the deep wisdom of awareness. |
| Pathways to Health: Sustaining Wellness After Brain Injury | Buffy Wojciehowski, Craig Health and Wellness Coordinator; Rachel Wilkens, Craig Registered Dietitian; and Dr. Eric Spier, Craig Brain Injury Program Medical Director An enlightening session focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle after a brain injury. Our panel of experts, including a physical therapist, nutritionist, and doctor, will share their insights on supporting recovery and long-term wellness. Each panelist will briefly share their role in supporting healthy living, followed by an interactive Q&A session where participants are invited to ask questions of the panel. |
| Returning to Meaningful Activities | Casey Pfister, Craig Community Reintegration Specialist; and Carol Huserik, Craig Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Explore ways to overcome barriers after brain injury and learn about applicable resources to increase participation in productive activities. |
| Caregiver Resilience: The Power of Passion and Perseverance | Libby Hiner, Craig Outpatient Counselor; Kent Hamstra, Craig Clinical Professional Development Coordinator; and a Caregiver Panel An open and safe forum to learn from a panel of caregivers and an opportunity to share your own practices and experiences of perseverance. This workshop will also give you the opportunity to ask questions of other caregivers. |
