The Wildlife Experience at CU South Denver will exhibit Redefining Possible, a groundbreaking portrait series featuring portraits of twelve people who are living with spinal cord or brain injury, by Pulitzer Prize-winning photography Barry Gutierrez. The exhibition will be on display from August 29, 2015 to December 31, 2015.
The innovative portrait series features twelve people who have made remarkable strides after a catastrophic injury or illness. Craig Hospital and Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Barry Gutierrez created the Redefining Possible portrait series to showcase the power of the human spirit.
Barry Gutierrez is a Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist and commercial photographer based in Denver, Colorado. His photography ranges from photojournalism to portraiture. He has done portraits of a number of presidents, including Barack Obama.
The opening of the exhibition coincides with the opening of a new exhibition space at The Wildlife Experience at CU South Denver. In 2015, the University of Colorado received its largest real estate donation in the institution’s history—the donation of The Wildlife Experience facility. In August 2015, the university will complete renovations to the southwestern wing of the building, which houses a gallery, gift shop, concession stand and theatre. CU South Denver continues to offer community events, including the Redefining Possible exhibit, while also offering higher education courses.
