Foundation Staff

The dedicated Foundation staff members work hand-in-hand with donors to help them achieve their philanthropic goals and create and support events and programs to help the Foundation best serve the needs of the Craig Hospital family. Team Members

  • Serena Bruzgo Craig Foundation President

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Prior to joining the Craig Foundation, Bruzgo was Vice President of Development and Marketing at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Bruzgo was founder and principal of Community Investment Advisors, a national corporate social responsibility and nonprofit consulting firm and previously held progressive leadership roles at the Colorado School of Mines Alumni Association. During her tenure at Mines, she expanded global alumni engagement programs, grew the organization’s endowment and membership revenue, served on the President's Cabinet, and cofounded the Colorado School of Mines Leadership Summit. She also led successful capital and endowment campaigns, major gift solicitations, and marketing and digital engagement efforts for the United States Air Force Academy Association of Graduates and Avila University.

    Bruzgo is in the 2021 Leadership Denver class, was a member of the inaugural cohort of the Morgridge Accelerator Fellowship Program, and serves on the board of Impact100 Metro Denver. She is a graduate of Hannibal LaGrange University in Missouri. Her personal interests include exploring the world with her family as scuba divers, Colorado adventurers, and community scientists.

  • Shannon Lowe Senior Director of Philanthropy and Principal Gifts

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Shannon Lowe brings more than 20 years of fundraising experience to her position since joining Craig Hospital Foundation in 2017. Prior to serving Craig Hospital, Shannon held leadership positions at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado, Children’s Law Center, Denver Children’s Home, and TRU Community Care (formerly HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health Education from Iowa State University.


  • ​Lori Allington Executive Assistant to the President of the Foundation

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Lori assists the Foundation President, staff, and the Board of Directors with various support functions. Lori is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her interests include golfing, reading, camping, and spending time with family and friends. She joined the Foundation in June 2015, however, has been working at Craig Hospital since 1999.


  • Jordan Ames Craig Foundation Senior Communications Manager

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Jordan Ames joined the Craig Hospital Foundation in March 2013 as Communications Manager. In this role, she leads communication strategies for the Foundation with an emphasis on donor stewardship and informing the public about the impact of gifts made to Craig. She manages all print and electronic publications related to Foundation key messages and supports overall communication efforts and marketing for all Foundation programs and events. She holds a master’s degree in Organizational and Professional Communication with an emphasis in PR and Marketing. She brings Craig more than 17 years of professional communications and marketing experience within the higher education, special event and hospitality sectors.


  • Rebecca Cover Director of Grants and Foundation Relations

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Rebecca Cover is the director of grants and foundation relations at the Craig Hospital Foundation. Her responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with foundations, soliciting and stewarding foundation grants, and creating proposals and reports for individual, corporate, and foundation donors. Before joining Craig in January 2020, she was the associate director for national corporate/foundation support at National Jewish Health; prior to that, she worked with foundation and government grants at a nonprofit organization in Columbus, Ohio. Rebecca holds a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of California, Berkeley.


  • Caroline Craven Director of Sponsorship & Engagement

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    As a long-term volunteer in the nonprofit sector, she has always been passionate about improving the lives of others. Caroline brings several years of event planning and catering sales experience from her tenure in Washington, DC and Santa Fe, New Mexico.


  • ​Mary Feller Senior Director of Principal and Planned Gifts

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Mary Feller has been in the fundraising profession for more than 30 years having worked in education organizations before joining Craig Hospital Foundation as Executive Director in 2010. Prior to heading the Craig Foundation, she worked for Metropolitan State College, Graland Country Day School, Maryville University, Fontbonne College and Saint Louis University.

    Mary currently serves as a member of the Philanthropy Commission for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. Previously she was a member of the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals in Colorado and the Chair of the Board for District VI of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.


  • Janna Fisher Events Manager and Designer

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Janna Fisher joined the Craig Hospital Foundation team in August 2022 with a decade of experience in development and fundraising events. Most recently, Janna served as Senior Associate Director of Special Events at National Jewish Health. She got her start in fundraising events at the American Friends of the Israel Museum in Los Angeles.

    Janna received her undergraduate degree at Colorado State University in Art History and Ethnic Studies and has a masters degree in Cultural Studies from Claremont Graduate University.

    Janna and her husband have two young sons. She enjoys spending time with her family and on weekends you can find her out to breakfast, at the South Pearl farmers markets, Stanley Marketplace and searching for garbage and fire trucks with her toddler.


  • Andrea Gonzales Supervisor of Data Strategy and Analytics

    Andrea leads the Craig Foundation's data strategy & analytics, segmentation execution, funds management, and research functions.


  • ​Jacqueline Hall Senior Director of Principal and Planned Gifts

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Jacquie Hall is the Senior Director of Principal and Planned Gifts for the Craig Hospital Foundation. She is responsible for working one-on-one with friends of Craig, encouraging their involvement to support world-class care for our patients and their families. Prior to coming to Craig in December 2012, Jacquie developed and implemented major gift, planned giving, and capital campaigns with the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business and College of Law and Mile High United Way, having raised over $80MM for foster care, quality childcare, transformational housing for low-income families and after-school programs. Jacquie is the Past Chair of the Major Gifts Council United Way Worldwide and has served as an instructor and consultant for United Way and Up With People, training professionals internationally. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado.


  • ​Nancy Harbin Development and Research Analyst

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Nancy Harbin was a volunteer at Craig Hospital before joining the Foundation as Development Assistant. She transitioned into the Development and Research Analyst role in March 2014. She has over 25 years of experience as a medical malpractice and personal injury paralegal. Before coming to Craig Hospital, Nancy was the Development Program Manager for the Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses Foundation (AORN) working on fundraising and events.


  • Brianne Hovey Funds Manager

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Brianne Hovey has felt a fond connection to the work of Craig Hospital for most of her life, having known several people who have benefitted greatly from their rehab here. She feels honored to be in a position to give back to an organization that has offered her friends such a profound transformation from injury to healing. As Funds Manager, she coordinates financial management and reporting on funds related to patient assistance and programmatic needs of the hospital.

    Brianne comes to Craig with 15 years of nonprofit accounting experience. She is a certified yoga teacher and is in school to become a yoga therapist. In her free time, she loves to travel, ride bikes, and be outdoors with her favorite people!


  • ​Jason Kukol Prospect Research and Development Manager

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Jason Kukol is responsible for Prospect Research and Development. He has 25 years of experience in this field at institutions such as the University of Pittsburgh and Georgia State University. Jason moved to Colorado from Pittsburgh, and is a University of Pittsburgh graduate.

  • Laura Lyons Annual Giving Manager

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Laura Lyons joined the Craig Hospital Foundation in March 2020 as the Annual Giving Manager. Her responsibilities include planning, executing, and managing annual fund programs including direct mail, e-solicitations, social media campaigns, grateful patient outreach, peer-to-peer fundraising, and employee giving efforts. Laura brings more than 30 years of experience as a fundraiser and consultant across a broad spectrum of nonprofit sectors such as human services, healthcare, advocacy, and animal welfare to the Foundation.


  • ​Becky Plunkett Senior Director of Donor Engagement & Operations

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    As Senior Director of Donor Engagement & Operations, Becky is passionate about connecting donors to the powerful work of Craig Hospital and helping philanthropy come to life. Becky has previously served in sponsorship, annual giving and events roles within the Craig Foundation and holds a Masters of Nonprofit Management from Regis University.


  • Wendy Quanon Gift Processing & Database Specialist

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Wendy Quanon gains her passion for philanthropy through her alma mater, Berea College. Berea is a non-profit private college that provides every student with a tuition-free scholarship promise. This is possible through their endowment and annual funds that are given to the college from donors all over the country. Wendy has experience through participating in the college’s biannual Phonathon in which students would contact alumni, family, and friends of the college to solicit funds for future and current students. Her experience with non-profit organizations will tremendously help in her goal of creating an orphanage and medical center for abandoned youth in her home country of Liberia.

    She joined the Craig Foundation in June of 2022 and is looking forward to sharing new experiences, outlooks, and culture within the team

  • Sydney Squire Philanthropy Specialist

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Sydney started working for the Craig Hospital Foundation in July of 2019. As the Philanthropy Specialist she is support for planned giving as well as helping with stewardship of donors. She was a recent graduate of the University of Northern Colorado with a double major in nutrition and human services. Her interests include reading, spending time with friends, and trying new restaurants.


  • Kelly Stangel-Martin Director of Philanthropy

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Kelly is an expert at enhancing strategic partnerships, expanding visibility, and building long-term relationships with donors.

    Having worked extensively with both nonprofit and for-profit organizations, Kelly has worked across multiple business sectors. With a strong commitment to the needs of the community, she maintains organizational integrity, develops best practices for optimized results and is very successful at building and maintaining relationships with key decision makers.

    At Craig, she helps the Craig Hospital Foundation achieve fundraising priorities by qualifying and assessing prospects to expand the major gift prospect pool. Kelly increases gifts from current mid-level donors and discovers and cultivates current donors and new prospects with major gift capacity in support of fundraising priorities.

    Kelly has experience at Goodwill Industries of Denver, OZ Architecture, Cochlear Americas, and the Denver Business Journal.


  • Sara Wells Digital Philanthropy Strategist

    Craig Hospital Foundation

    Sara joined Craig Hospital Foundation in September 2017 as the Event & Communications Specialist. Originally from Southern California, she is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder and brings 7 years of experience in event coordination and graphic design in the non-profit sector. Sara will be assisting the Foundation team with events and communication efforts and is thrilled to join the Craig family!
