Mounts are used to secure your phone or tablet to a wheelchair or tabletop. Here are a few things to consider before purchasing:
- Adjustability
- Where it will be used (i.e., wheelchair/tabletop/floor/lap/bed)

Desks
When considering desk options, we recommend choosing one that can be adjusted to meet your specific needs. This includes being able to adjust the height and position of your monitor, keyboard and mouse. Not only will this allow you to place these items in the most accessible position for you, but it will also allow for better ergonomics. Having an ergonomically correct workstation will improve posture, reduce fatigue and decrease risk of repetitive use injuries. Some basic ergonomic principals to consider include:
- Monitor at or just below eye level
- Mouse and keyboard in a position that allows for a 90-degree bend in your elbow with your arms by your side
- Forearms and wrist in a neutral (not bent) position
- Head and neck in line with your torso
Considerations When Choosing a Workstation
- Height adjustability: This allows you to adjust the height of the desk to meet your ergonomic needs, whether you are moving between a manual and power wheelchair or standing.
- Mobile station: Mobility is important if you need to move your workstation from room to room or use it from your wheelchair or your bed. Mobile stations are often more compact and may be the better choice if you have limited space. When selecting a mobile desk, make sure the keyboard tray pulls out far enough to get close.
- Wall mounts: If you have limited space or are looking for a more affordable option, you might consider a wall-mounted workstation. These often include an adjustable monitor arm, keyboard tray and storage for your computer. Be aware, they do not have space to store large items, such as a printer.
