Craig Hospital Ranked Among 2026 Best Hospitals for Rehabilitation by U.S. News & World Report
Craig Named Among Best Hospitals for Rehabilitation by U.S. News & World Report for 37 Consecutive Years
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – August 17, 2026 – U.S. News & World Report announced this month that Craig Hospital has once again ranked among the best hospitals for rehabilitation in the U.S. for the 37th consecutive year. New this year to the Rehabilitation category are state and regional rankings, in which Craig ranked #1 for Rehabilitation in both Colorado and the Denver Metro Area. As a neurorehabilitation and research hospital and center of excellence caring for individuals who have sustained spinal cord and brain injuries, Craig Hospital ranked #24 in the nation this year and has been ranked every year since the annual Best Hospitals rankings began in 1990.
This year’s annual rankings were gathered by evaluating data on more than 4,500 hospitals across 14 adult specialties and 23 procedures and conditions; only 16% of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals designation. According to U.S. News & World Report, to be nationally ranked in a specialty, a hospital must excel at factors such as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care and patient experience.
“We are honored to be ranked among the best rehabilitation hospitals in the nation, #1 in our home state and the Denver Metro Area, and to have been recognized among the top hospitals in the nation for 37 consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report,” Jandel Allen-Davis, MD, president and CEO of Craig Hospital, said. “Our continued pursuit of excellence in neurorehabilitation and research is made possible by the remarkable team members who bring compassion, expertise and exceptional care to our patients and their families.”
Craig Hospital’s functional patient outcomes continue to exceed nearly every national measure. On average, Craig graduates are discharged home at higher rates, return to work or school in greater numbers, are more functionally independent and require less attendant care, have fewer re-hospitalizations, and experience higher levels of community re-integration and satisfaction with life.
Founded in 1956, Craig Hospital is located in Englewood, Colo., and each year provides specialized neurorehabilitation and research for nearly 2,000 individuals who have sustained a spinal cord injury and/or brain injury.
