ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – Jan. 28, 2022 – Craig Hospital, a world-renowned neurorehabilitation and research hospital for people who have sustained spinal cord and/or brain injuries (BI/SCI), has been named by The Civic 50 Colorado as one of the most community-minded companies in Colorado.
An initiative by CSR Solutions of Colorado and Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, The Civic 50 recognizes the 50 most community-minded companies in the nation each year through an annual survey administered by True Impact.
Recognized for the dedication of time, talent and resources that drive social impact in their company and community, the selection of Colorado’s top 50 companies is based on four disciplines of community engagement: investment of resources, integration across business functions, institutionalization through policies and systems, and impact measurement.
“The Civic 50 Colorado demonstrates that even during a pandemic, our team at Craig Hospital continues to prioritize community engagement,” said Diane Reinhard, vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Craig Hospital. “Earning this recognition and celebrating alongside fellow community-minded organizations is especially rewarding because it creates a ripple effect among Colorado’s businesses, encouraging leaders to learn and evolve to the betterment of our community.”
The team at Craig Hospital is rooted in the understanding that improved health outcomes are not achieved in isolation. Instead, joint planning, robust partnerships and collaboration with a wide array of others are critical to improving health outcomes for its community.
Every year, Craig Hospital contributes time and financial resources to organizations that foster independence and access to care for those living with spinal cord and/or brain injury, including supporting greater access to integrative therapies, home modifications, recreation, sports and arts programs. The hospital also lends community support in the areas of education, homelessness and food insecurity.
Reinhard continues, “Investment in our community does not solely rely on a robust engagement program. It requires constant assessment of our impact and then improving, so we, in turn, better serve, connect and impact our immediate and Colorado communities.”
