Treatment of Oculo-Motor Dysfunction in Individuals with TBI: A RCT Pilot of Six Essential Exercises
Oculo-motor impairments are estimated to affect up to 90% of individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI). There is a very limited evidence base for vision therapy to treat oculo-motor dysfunction associated with TBI. The proposed pilot project uses RCT methodology to determine the proof of concept and feasibility of an oculo-motor rehabilitation therapy protocol currently in use at Craig Hospital. The study will compare a standardized set of six oculo-motor rehabilitation exercises conducted 30 minutes a day, five days a week for four weeks to standard of care vision exercises that are conducted for the same amount of time.
