Your Craig journey starts with Admissions
After your acute care hospital case manager contacts us with a referral, our team will verify your benefits and connect with your insurance agency. Once our admissions office and your insurance provider have approved your paperwork, we will arrange schedules and transportation to have you and your loved ones visit Craig for an in-depth campus walkthrough.

Craig has a wide variety of programs specifically designed to support families of patients, including housing for outpatients and families of inpatients, either in Craig’s on-site family housing facility or in a nearby apartment or hotel. For families of newly injured spinal cord or brain injury rehabilitation inpatients who live more than 60 miles from Denver, we offer up to 30 days at no charge. If there are no on-site units available, we will provide housing in a nearby apartment or hotel. After 30 days, family housing is available at a discounted rate on-site or at a nearby apartment or hotel depending on availability.
Craig’s on-site housing units are equipped with kitchenettes, roll-in showers and hide-a-beds and are spacious for wheelchairs. All guests coordinate their stay through Guest Services prior to their arrival.

After your initial campus visit, you will meet your Craig care team made up of interdisciplinary neurorehabilitation experts trained to treat your specific injury. Meeting regularly to discuss your progress, our team members stick with you from start to finish to provide you with consistent updates and compassionate care.

Dedicated spaces to maximize your recovery
Craig is a 350,000-square-foot, 93-bed rehabilitation campus with spacious therapy gyms and intuitive equipment to best serve your neurorehabilitation programs. Our on-site physical and occupational therapists use these dedicated environments to help you reach your rehabilitation goals. This includes an assistive technology lab, a transfer training room designed to help you get comfortable moving from wheelchairs to cars, beds and airline seats, and more.
Specialized equipment to help patients regain arm movement and grip function by exercising and strengthening the shoulder, elbow, and hand muscles.
A day at Craig
Most patients start each weekday morning with a breakfast in the bistro, followed by a variety of therapist-led appointments and activities:
- Customized physical, occupational, therapeutic recreation, speech and other specialized therapy sessions
- Visits from a physician
- A new schedule for the following day
- Meals in the bistro

After meeting to discuss how to reach rehabilitation goals, your team lead will work with your family members to encourage participation in therapies, educational learnings and campus-friendly family outings.
