Administrative Fellowship Opportunity

The Administrative Fellowship position is a two-year project and rotation-based training position that allows the fellow to work on various projects throughout the organization. The full-time, paid position will provide valuable exposure to hospital leadership through regular participation in executive meetings, project management and numerous rotations. At Craig Hospital, we understand that not all applicants will seek the same experience, so the fellowship will be tailored to the selected candidate’s professional aspirations and interests.

First Year

First-year rotations are customized to match each fellow’s capabilities and interests. While we prioritize aligning rotations with specific interests, flexibility and responsiveness to organizational needs are encouraged. During planning discussions, fellows are guided to envision a comprehensive range of experiences that will prepare them for future career opportunities.

The fellow will have the opportunity to spend approximately 6-7 weeks rotating through several core functional area, such as:

Finance
Clinical Shadowing
Quality
Research
The Craig Hospital Foundation
Marketing and Communications
Human Resources
Strategy

Second Year

The second year offers additional flexibility, allowing the fellow to take on more project responsibilities in areas of interest or organizational need. The fellow will have the chance to complete any projects from the first year while also having the opportunity to lead new, impactful initiatives.

Example of past second year projects include:

Competitive market analysis for underperforming markets
Internal business analysis and drafting a proposal justifying capital investment and operational changes
Process improvement for business and operational functions, such as the development and operationalization of new templates or tools (i.e., developing an executive onboarding template)
Serving as Project Manager for ongoing hospital initiatives (i.e., the Neurobehavioral Summit, Respiratory Sleep Lab, etc.)

The position will report to the Vice President of People and Culture/Chief Human Resource Officer with supervision and guidance by other leaders within the hospital based upon established rotations and projects. Ultimately, the fellowship will evolve to meet the needs of the hospital and the desires of the fellow.

Qualified applicants must have a master’s degree (MBA, MHA or related field) or be a degree candidate from an accredited college or university who is scheduled to complete the degree before the fellowship start date in July.

Preferred applicants hold a master’s degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). However, applications from non-CAHME programs will be accepted for review.

Internal candidates must be within three years of their degree conferral date. External candidates must be within 12 months of their degree conferral date.

Experience: Some practical experience as an intern, fellow or employee within the healthcare industry is strongly preferred.

2027-2029 applications open Monday, July 27, 2026. To be considered for the program, applicants must submit the following materials (in the following order) by Monday, August 31, 2026:

One-page personal statement (500 words or less) that explains how an administrative fellowship at Craig Hospital will help you obtain your career goals
Official graduate school transcripts (scanned copies are accepted)
Two letters of recommendation (one academic and one professional). Applicants should address their letters to the Administrative Fellowship Selection Committee

2027-2029 Fellowship Application and Start Dates

Applications close: Monday, August 31, 2026
First-round HR screening interviews will begin on a rolling basis and be conducted virtually
Second-round (virtual) panel interviews begin: Mid-September
Final-round (virtual) panel interviews begin: Late September
Offer extended: Early October
Fellowship start date: June 2027
