Lisa Payne has been a clinical psychologist at Craig for over 29 years. She specializes in the treatment of patients and families who have experienced spinal cord and brain injuries, in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. For the past ten years she has loved her position as Psychologist in the Outpatient Department. She provides individual, marital and family therapy, as well as co facilitates SCI and Caregiver Support groups at Craig. One of her primary interests is working with individuals with SCI and TBI who are transitioning to the community and with community agencies. She was a Primary Investigator on research studies investigating the effect of volunteering on psychological well-being post-TBI and SCI.

Lisa obtained her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern California. Prior to moving to Colorado and starting her career at Craig, she worked as a Rehabilitation Psychologist at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center. When she is not working, she enjoys gardening, family, friends and volunteering at RSVP, a free clinic for individuals without insurance who have experienced catastrophic injuries.
