The Need for Speed
Wheelchair racing provides the opportunity to put some speed, excitement and competitive action into your life. Like running, it can take place on a track or as a road race and is open to athletes with any qualifying type of disability: spinal cord injuries, amputees, cerebral palsy, etc. Wheelchair racing has been a part of the Summer Paralympics since 1960 and has become one of the most prominent forms of Paralympic athletics.
