Alumni Update: Jenny Daubendiek Robinson

In May 2010, Jenny Daubendiek Robinson was training for a long distance biking event when she was injured while road biking south of Grand Junction, Colorado. This specific training ride was planned to be a 90-mile ride from Whitewater, Colorado, to Gateway Canyon, but on the way back when a truck tried to pass her, another car sent him back into her lane causing the truck to collide with her. She flew 50 feet off her bike and sustained a series of injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. She spent the next two months in hospitals and did her rehabilitation at Craig Hospital.

Post-accident, Jenny stayed in Denver and returned to her job in commercial real estate development with the same company she worked with prior to her accident and is still with the company today. In 2011, she met her husband and had their two sons in 2015 and 2017.

“I got back to my life, albeit at a much slower pace,” Jenny says. “My sons, now 3-years-old and 8-months-old, certainly keep me busy! I’ve been an active volunteer in Craig’s Therapeutic Recreation Department since my accident. I took a break after our recent little man was born but look forward to getting back to it in the future! I cannot speak more highly of all the people I met at Craig. Craig and everyone there will always be so near and dear to my heart.”
