Tom and Michele Castle honored with Spirit of Craig Award at PUSH

Tom and Michele Castle jointly accepted the Dave and Gail Liniger Spirit of Craig Award at the 2019 PUSH Gala, Craig’s biggest fundraiser. This award recognizes a Craig graduate and/or family member who, through their community service, professional achievement, and personal support of Craig’s patients, graduates, and mission, significantly brings to life the spirit of Craig Hospital to others in the community.

In 2011, Tom Castle sustained a stroke as a result of a congenital heart defect. The family came to Craig for outpatient therapy that helped him get back to work and the activities he loves. The family came back to Craig again for outpatient therapy when Michele’s father, Alex Brewer, was experiencing neurologic issues. Now Tom and Michele, and Michele’s mother, Dorrace Brewer, are some of Craig’s most ardent supporters. They have hosted fundraising events in their home, given generously to the capital campaign and other fundraising efforts, sponsored and supported events like PUSH multiple times, and donated thousands of dollars worth of equipment. They are passionate advocates for Craig in the community, using their influence and relationships to spread the word and introduce others to the Craig mission of empowering lives.

As President of SullivanHayes Brokerage, Tom Castle oversees the brokerage organization, providing leadership and guidance to the firm’s complement of independent real estate brokers. Tom started with SullivanHayes in 1985, helping to build a specialized brokerage firm which grew to be the leader in retail tenant and project representation. Tom continues to personally handle Target’s expansion in Colorado and Utah as well as other retail expansion programs and select property and development projects with local and national developers.

Michele Brewer Castle earned a BS in Finance from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1992. After graduating from CU, Michele obtained her commercial real estate license and started Alexis Investments Corporation. She is responsible for commercial real estate sales and leasing, property management, and accounting for her family’s assets.

Michele and Tom are both active in the community, including with Craig Hospital, having benefited from Craig’s world-class facilities and care after Tom sustained a stroke in 2011. The Castles spend their free time enjoying life with their family and friends, traveling, skiing and golfing.
